Place des Lices is undergoing a small green transformation. The Saint-Tropez town council has replanted 17 hackberry trees following the necessary removal of plane trees affected by the disease known as canker stain. The “Environment” department selected the trees in Italy to find those best suited to the iconic Place des Lices. At the same time, an automatic irrigation system and a wooden border have been installed. The works have not prevented pétanque players from enjoying their favourite sport.
