Created in 1978, the ARMEN festival is an original event. Its name comes from the contraction of ARt MEr Neige, as it brings together three competitions in Sailing, Skiing and Art, and is of course also a nod to the Breton lighthouse of the same name. In addition to the rankings for each discipline, there are three prizes that the competitors compete for: the "André Hermann" Challenge (best combined ski-sailing ranking), the "René Perrier" Challenge (best combined Art-Sailing ranking) and, of course, the Armen Trophy, best combined Art-Ski-Sailing ranking.
During the week of the festival, Art is given pride of place ((A work of art must be created by one of the crew members of the participating yacht on a theme defined in advance)
a theme defined in advance). On the first weekend of the regatta, weather permitting, this year's event includes a course from Saint-Tropez to Le Lavandou (return the following day). Second weekend: regattas in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. The ski event is organised on Friday at Isola 2000. ARt MEr Neige ! Note that this event is counted for the IRC Mediterranean crewed ranking. It is not uncommon for more than 70 boats to be competing. (23 February to 3 March)
